When is the 2017 Good Life Halfsy?
This year’s Good Life Halfsy will be on Sunday, October 29th, 2017. Yee haw!

What time does the race start?
The Good Life Halfsy will begin at 8:30 AM sharp CST.

Is there a Packet Pickup & Run Expo?
Absolutely! Please join us for some pre-race fun and shenanigans at the Excel Chiropractic and Wellness Run Expo + Packet Pickup.  It runs from 12pm to 6pm on Saturday October 28th, 2017 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Lincoln-Downtown (1040 P Street).

Please note, Packet Pickup will also be available at the start line on race day for those runners that cannot attend the Run Expo. If you must pickup your packet on race day, be sure to arrive at least 1 hour prior to race time to give yourself plenty of time to park, pickup your packet and get to the start line.

Race packets will not be mailed prior to race day.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

What do I need to bring with me to claim my race packet?

  • If you are picking up your own packet: Your email confirmation or photo ID is required to pick-up your own packet in person.
  • If you cannot attend packet pickup and someone else is picking up your packet for you: A printed PACKET PICKUP PROXY form must be signed by you and your chosen proxy (friend, family member, etc) and must be turned in at packet pickup. Photo ID of the proxy will be required. Remember, there are no bib transfers, deferrals or refunds. Only registered runners are allowed to run in the race with their race bib. Proxy forms are not accepted at race morning packet pickup.

What am I getting for my entry fee?
Besides running 13.1 lovely miles through the streets of Lincoln, each runner will receive an official Good Life Halfsy race shirt, a unique finishers medal, chip timed results, free downloadable race photos, athlete SWAG package and post-race food, refreshments and festival. Enjoy!

Is there a full marathon?
Not at the Good Life Halfsy. We focus our energy on 13.1 miles of awesome (Plus, the Good Life “Fullsy” just doesn’t have the same ring to it, ya know!).

Is there a minimum age requirement for the run?
You must be 8 years of age on race day to take part in the Good Life Halfsy. A parent or guardian must sign the waiver at packet pickup on your behalf if you are 19 or younger.

How do I get my results?
Online results will be posted to goodlifehalfsy.com/results immediately following the event. You’ll also get a post-race email with links to results, photos and more!

How many runners will there be? Is there a cap?
We are excited to welcome 6,500 runners for the 2017 Good Life Halfsy. Don’t dilly-dally, this event sells out months in advance every year!

Can I run with a baby stroller or my pet?
Make this a part of your training plan, but not a part of race day. Strollers and pets are not allowed due to safety considerations as well as a narrow course in certain areas.

Is there a minimum pace requirement for the run?
Yes. A minimum 18:20 minute per mile pace requirement will be enforced for athletes to ensure responsible City of Lincoln street use and to guarantee maximum police, traffic control personnel and volunteer time commitments. The cut-off time will start 25 minutes after the first runner starts (and the 18:20 minute per mile pace is based upon this).

Cut-off times will be enforced at every Aid Station. Athletes unable to maintain the minimum pace will no longer be considered event participants and your race bib will be removed. They will be asked to go to the finish and transported to in a vehicle provided by the race. If a participant decides to continue, they will be moved to the sidewalk or side path, no aid/water stations will be open, volunteers will not be on the course, medical staff will no longer be on the course and you will not receive a finish time should you continue along the route. We strongly recommend you get transported to the finish line. See the Course Amenities Section for More Exact Cut-Off Times and Locations.

Do you offer refunds? Can I transfer or sell my race bib?
By registering for the Good Life Halfsy, you are accepting the risk of losing your registration fee in the event that you are unable to participate due to unforeseen time conflict, injury, illness, weather related event cancellation or any other circumstance or event cancellation. If you chose to add a Bulu Box subscription to your registration (great choice!) you’ll receive an email from Bulu Box with your redemption code within 48 hours. The Route

Where can I find a route map?
You can check out the route map in all its glory here! The route is subject to minor changes, but this should give you a good idea of the fun you will encounter.

Where is the start line? Where is the start line parking?
Just look for all the smiling people dressed like runners! We’ll be lining up for the start at Seacrest Field located at Lincoln East High School near 7300 A Street. Runners may be dropped off by friends or family or may park all day in the east or west Seacrest Field lots. Just be sure to enter the parking lots from A Street. Will there be a gear check?
Yes! Gear check will be available at the start line. Your items will be securely transported to the finish line where you can claim them after the race by showing your race bib. More information can be found in our start map.

What streets will be closed in Lincoln?
Closer to race day, street closures will be listed on the Lincoln Public Works website. Check it out!

Will you have aid stations, medical assistance, water and toilets on the course?
Yes, yes, yes and yes–all of the above. We are committed to all of your bodily needs and functions! We are also committed to providing the most enthusiastic cheer stations you’ve ever seen along the route. For exact locations, check out the course map.

Will you have shuttles to take runners from the finish line back to the start line?
You bet! You didn’t think we’d leave you stranded did you? Buses will be lined up near the finish and waiting to get you back to your vehicle up until 1:30 PM. Alternatively, have a friend, family member or adoring fan pick you up!

Can I wear headphones or rock out with my iPod?
We encourage everyone to leave their music at home and live in the moment. There will be so much to see and hear, you won’t want to miss out, plus it’s safer for every one if we have our ears open. If you must run with music, please keep the volume low or run with Safe Speakers.

Where can my adoring fans watch?
Boo yow! Running fandom is strongly encouraged along the whole route, but the party will be swinging the loudest and proudest at one of the designated Cheer Stations. This is where all the action will be and where crowds will be whipped into a frenzy to encourage and motivate you to the finish line. Exact Cheer Station locations will be printed in a Spectator Guide closer to race day. All fans are encouraged to join their runners just beyond the finish line at the Finish Festival at the Railyard. Fans are also encouraged to know the race route and check street closures to avoid getting stuck in traffic.

After the Race

I was not able to run, can you mail me my packet?
We can ship you your packet, shirt, runner gift or pre-ordered items upon request, but you must cover the cost of shipping.

I was not able to exchange my shirt on race day, can I exchange via mail?
We can exchange your shirt upon request, but you must cover the cost of shipping.

Where will race photos be posted?
Course and photo booth photos will be sent via email, posted to facebook and will also live here.

How do I get my award?
Award winners should plan to attend the award ceremony following the race. If you do not attend the award ceremony, your award can shipped, but you must cover the cost of shipping.
